SEVERE WEATHER STATEMENT #2

The National Weather Service has continued the flood watch for Carroll County
through Wednesday morning. Severe weather will be entering Carroll County
around 8 PM until early Wednesday morning with rainfall expected in the 2”-4”
range before ending around 2 AM.

Showers and thunderstorms may become severe this evening. Low pressure will
move
northward from eastern North Carolina this morning to northeastern Maryland
late
this evening. A moist, unstable air mass and the circulation around the low
pressure system will create conditions favorable for the formation of severe
thunderstorms. Winds will be from 20-25 MPH and may gust up to 30 MPH. Tornadic
activity is possible but will likely decrease after sunset.

Residents living in low-lying or flood prone areas are urged to take the
necessary precautions to protect their lives and property.

A Conference Call is scheduled with the National Weather Service tomorrow at
9:30 AM. Additional information will be forthcoming upon conclusion of the
conference call.

Should localized flooding or other weather-related events occur, the Emergency
Management staff will be in an “on-call” status for quick response to the
Emergency Operations Center. Staff will continue to monitor this weather
event.
