Well, that's a different interpretation of the rule than I received from the
League in previous years, but if it's the current one (pun intended), then we'll
abide by it. Thanks for checking.
OK, folks, we can't charge batteries using the genset or commericial power
during Field Day. We can prior to the start the start of Field Day, but not
during the event. Bring plenty of well-charged battery capacity with you to the
site. Bring charged spares. If you have a solar or wind backup system, bring it.
The battery powering the rig used for the five QSOs for the Alternate Power
bonus is the only one that must be completely charged via wind or solar. I've
got that covered with my solar array.
Remember, anything associated with putting a signal on the air must run from
batteries.
Lights and logging computers that don't generated transmitted signals or decode
received signals may run from a non-battery source.
