Jim, you are so correct. I have been licensed since Jan 1973. There
are still areas of Ham Radio that I have not explored yet, but plan to
do so as I get older and maybe only have a VHF/UHF station.

That said, DX and contesting are very habit forming! However, many
burn out way before they should. DXCC is a life long pursuit! I am
still watching for Zone 18 on 80 meters as my last of the 5Band WAZ.

I still watch for those last four countries on RTTY for all of them. I have
had all of the others worked on CW and SSB for long time. But as new
ones come up, I will try to join those pileups with you!

My thrust as many of you know is Army MARS. I am on digit nets 7
days a week. This morning, I handled 8 messages sent using 100 wpm
RTTY. We use AMTOR, PSK31, PACTOR, MFSK16 and MT-63.
Never a dull moment here. I would encourage all to look at all the
amatuer service has to offer. Do not think of it as a hobby. It is a way
of life. Sorry for the soapbox, but just could not help it!
73 Wayne N3UN (since 1976)
