Folks-

 

At the club meeting in May and June, the presentations will be the
training seminars IS-100 and IS-700.  

 

These courses are designed to acquaint people with the NIMS and ICS
systems.  Compliance with NIMS is a requirement for all agencies
receiving FEMA grants.  Since that includes most/all of our served
agencies, it behooves us to get trained and certified as well.   That
way, we can speak the language.

 

The current schedule is:

May 8, 2006:               IS-100 Introduction to Incident Command
System

June 12, 2006:             IS-700 National Incident Management System
(NIMS), an introduction.

 

Those attending will have 2 opportunities to get their certification.

1.	You can take a copy of the final exam with you to use to take
the exam online.
2.	You can sit for the exam after the completion of the meeting.  I
will mail them in for grading by the FEDs.

 

The DCS committee is considering inviting EmComm people from surrounding
jurisdictions to participate as well.

 

Hopefully, this will be a fun time, and useful as well.
