Subject: [K3PZN-List] 147.285 on & open for testing
Greetings Friends;
The 147.285 machine is currently on the air from the K3PZN club station.
The repeater is running about 75 Watts out to the vertical at the top of
the tower, about 70-80 feet up.
Please try it out! Don't expect coverage as good as 145.410, but it should
be fairly easy to access for those of you close to Westminster.
We still have plenty of tweaks and adjustments to make. You will notice
some background noise between transmissions. Some additional audio
processing circuits need to be built to fix this. You CW buffs will also
note that the IDer was programmed to ID a link channel transmitter. This
will get taken care of over the next several days.
In the few hours that the repeater has been on, I've heard a couple
conversations already! There's been a small group of members who have been
testing the machine's coverage to the South and West. It would be great to
hear some more folks talking. The machine should also work well with Packet
and PSK-31 if anyone cares to give it a try.
We will also be testing operation of the control receiver. If you hear the
repeater drop out in the middle of a QSO, it may just be the control
receiver functionality being checked out.
Have fun with your new machine!
