Subject: [K3PZN-List] November 14 Meeting "Antique
Radio Night" - A Reminder

CCARC Members - A reminder that the theme of next
Mondays meeting is "Antique Radio Night". If you
will bring at least 1 antique to show, it will
make the night a success. Additionally, do you
have something antique and don't know what it is
or was used for, bring it in.

The November presentation time will be devoted to
the theme "Antique Radio Night".

We are asking any member who has an antique radio,
be it amateur or commercial broadcast to bring it
in for display. If there is something special
about the radio that makes it rare or you
completely partly or completely restored it , and
maybe have taken pictures, bring the pictures and
consider putting together some info. on the radio
together.

All displays should be accompanied minimally by an
index card with your name, the radios
manufacturer, date of manufacture, condition and
anything else you may wish to add.

Antique and unusual test equipment is also
welcome.

Have you recently built an "antique radio", that
is built a tube radio from 40 year older
specifications? Bring it in and tell us a little
about it.

Everyone is welcome to have a few minutes if they
would like to demo or talk about their radio,
however speaking is NOT required.

For the purposes of this display, all ham radios
will be considered "antique" if they are pre 1970
or have tubes (other than finals). Broadcast
Radios are considered antique if they are pre
1960. Any transistor radios built in the 50's are
considered antique.

If this night goes well and the club shows
interest, we can plan a couple of future meetings
with themes such as antique radio collecting,
acquisition, repair, identification and valuation.

Members that have a dolly or hand truck and can
bring it to the meeting to help with any antique
"boat anchor" would be appreciated.

Members that would like to display equipment but
cannot handle it alone, are encouraged to seek the
help of another member. Put a call out here on the
list server.

BAD WEATHER
If the weather is judged to be bad enough (raining
or a significant chance of rain) we will attempt
to reschedule "Antique Radio Night" rather than
taking a chance on radios being ruined. Some of
the old veneer cabinetry would nor steel chassis
take kindly to rain. If that should occur, we will
make the first call on Sunday evening the night
before the meeting. The final decision will
probably made on meeting day if there is a good
possibility of the weather clearing.

Any questions or comments can be directed to
