Greetings,
I have a APC model 1200VX UPS to give away. The unit needs new batteries
(2 12volt 24Amp) which will probably cost about $130 for the two.
I inherited this "HEAVY" box about 5 years ago --- it was working then
but needed batteries. I replaced the batteries and the unit work fine up
until about two months ago when I discovered that the batteries needed
replacement again.
I have since picked up another BIGGER and HEAVIER UPS unit to replace the
1200VX -- so I'd like to send the 1200VX to a new home.
A word of caution -- I'm not 100% sure the unit is working correctly now.
I tried testing the unit using two 12volt car batteries (externally) and the
unit would not switch over to battery power when the line voltage dropped.
I decided not to troubleshoot the problem since I had already made
arrangements to pick up the bigger unit. I do not have a schematic -- nor
do I have the owner's manual for the unit.
The unit weighs about 80 lbs. I've left the batteries in the unit in order
to eliminate a guessing game as to how to install the batteries. (there is
a trick with installing the batteries that can only be learned by removing
them first)
