  HERE ARE THE MARCH MINUTES, CORRECTIONS, DELETIONS OR ADDITIONS TO ME 
ASAP PLEASE, THANKS

CARROLL COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB  minutes

 

  CCARC met on March 14th at the Fire Training Center, there were 21 
members and 3 guests present, President Beckman called the meeting to 
order at 7:30PM.

 

  President Beckman made the following announcements and comments; there 
will be no RACES meeting tomorrow evening, the drill was held on the 7th 
of March; the next board meeting will be March 23d at the FTC, all 
members are welcome; the Tailgate and Hamfest flyers are available for 
distribution, pick up if you intend to attend any other Hamfest; the MS 
walk will be held on April 10th more information will be available 
later; the NCAC Institute is conducting a seminar on dealing with 
emergencies in Prince Georges County April 23d; the Mid Atlantic QSO 
Party will be held May 14-15, as winners last year perhaps we should 
donate the plaque to the winner this year; the Dayton Hamfest is on May 
20th to the 22d; Boy Scout troop 420 has contacted Steve about a 
presentation on Ham Radio, more details when they are available; Carroll 
County is planning and emergency exercise on Friday June 17th, which 
will include CCARC, so be prepared; Field Day this year is on June 
25-26, Mike N3VOP is the chairman and a new venue is anticipated; 
instead of the huge feast at field day the club is hoping to plan for a 
picnic sometime in the July timeframe; Mike N3VOP presented a form to be 
filled out and submitted to the county for use of the Mt Airy Middle 
School grounds for field day; Steve N3SB has been contacted by the 
publication Focus on Carroll for details on the club, he will have more 
information later; the guests introduced themselves.

 

  For your Information - Rex K3RER can get a discount on a Callsign 
Database if he gets at least 10 orders, for further info see Rex.

 

  Secretary Report - Joe N3YIM reported that the Hamfest flyers have 
been printed and picked up, and ballots for this evenings election are 
here, motioned by John K3KWO, seconded by Keith W3MDC to accept, voted 
and passed.

 

  Treasurers Report - Bill N3WM gave the report and a copy is in the 
official copy of the minutes, Bill W3STG motioned that the report be 
accepted, seconded by Mike N3VOP, voted and passed.

 

  Board Report - Steve N3SB gave the report, the election of officers 
and board members was discussed; the new Hamfest and Tailgate Fest flyer 
was organized and approved; the future of the Communications Van was 
discussed and it was decided to keep it as long as the insurance is in 
effect (Sep 05) and then if there is no help with finances the club may 
decide to sell it.

 

 

 

 

 

  Committees -

 

    ARES/RACES - Larry WX3F announced a CARET meeting on March 26th at 
the North Carroll Library from 10AM until Noon; at the February meeting 
held in Mt Airy it was noted that the CARET Roster needed to be updated, 
you may update by going to qsl.net/CARET.

 

    Repeater - Larry WX3F noted there has been intermod on the 440 
machine, the 2 meter machine seems to be working fine; there has been no 
new developments with the remote repeater from the County; Doug N5LBJ 
motioned that the 440 machine be left on PL 24/7 to eliminate the 
intermod, Keith W3MDC seconded the motion, the motion was defeated upon 
vote; the committee will investigate the problem.

 

  There was no old business.

 

  New Business -

 

    Keith W3MDC asked how many members has used the 2 meter repeater 
lately; there was a show of hands to indicate those who have.

 

    The Annual Election of Officers and Board Members was conducted with 
the following results;

      President - Steve N3SB

      Vice President - John K3KWO

      Secretary - Bill W3STG

      Treasurer - Bill N3WM

    Board members elected were;

      Chuck N3TOT

      Frank K3MTT

      Jerry N3GQK

      Doug N5LBJ

      Keith W3MDC

  Steve N3SB showed a broken power supply and asked the members what 
could possibly be wrong with it; there were 14 suggestions on the 
problem, he used the three most voted suggestions, still did not work, 
will continue and try to fix next month.

 

  The door prize was won by Larry WX3F, a current copy of the Antenna Book.

 

  There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 2055.
