Greetings Friends;

Here are a few updates for Field Day:

PUBLICITY -- The Mount Airy Gazette has contacted me to coordinate a visit.
We'll be famous (or infamous) once again.

NTS Message to Section Manager -- Tom W3TOM is planning to visit our site
sometime over the weekend. We can give him an HT and pass the message in NTS
format directly to him.

FOOD -- Remember that there is no formal picnic this year. Food arrangements
are
completely ad-hoc. (The new CCARC picnic is on Saturday July 16 at Gambrill
State Park.) There are plenty of restaurants within 2-3 miles of the site, so
nobody should go hungry. Everyone should bring plenty of cool drinks for
themselves.

PUBLIC ACCESS -- Possibly too good. We may attract kids like a three ring
circus. You phone people have less to worry about, since kids are REALLY
attracted to CW. Please think extra-hard about safety when installing antennas
and running cables.

DIRECTIONS -- The school is easy to get to from Route 27. Go South on Route 27,
6 miles past the Rt. 26 intersection, to the light at Watersville Rd. Turn
Right and go to the top of the hill. (The FD site will be visible on your left)
Make a left on Main Street, and a left into the school parking lot.

Weather -- the forecast is improving. Current predictions are mid 80's for both
days, and no rain.

Mike N3VOP has done a great job coordinating this event. Be sure to thank him
sometime this weekend, and please come out and OPERATE!

73; Steve, N3SBB
