Greetings all:
If you are a ARES/RACES team member, please check your gear and charge
your batteries this evening in case we should be called into service
as a result of the forcasted weather event for tomorrow and Sunday.
Additionally, you might want to monitor the 2 meter repeater, starting
tomorrow morning, for any possible ARES/RACES activation.

*WEATHER ALERT*
WINTER STORM WATCH
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for
Carroll County, as well as the rest of Maryland, until Sunday morning.
The Office of Public Safety Support Services is currently monitoring
the approaching winter storm as it nears Carroll County from the
northwest.
Snowfall should begin around mid-morning Saturday and continue
throughout the day and into the evening. The temperature high should
be approximately 20 degrees Winds will range around 20 miles per hour
with gusts from 35-40 miles per hour causing drifting in some areas.
Total accumulation for the Carroll County region should be
approximately 4"-8". From Annapolis to Baltimore and northeast,
accumulations may reach 10".
Light snow may continue through Sunday morning into the afternoon
adding an additional 1"-2" inches.
The Office of Public Safety Support Services will take part in a
state-wide conference call with MEMA and the National Weather Service
tomorrow at 11 AM. Information received that indicates a change from
the original forecast will be appropriately disseminated.
