Greetings All,
 
Shake off those mid-winter blahs and join members
of FARC, MADXRA, ARES, RACES, REACT, The Philo
Farnsworth Fan Club, et al., for breakfast and a
fieldtrip to the Radio and Television Museum in
Bowie, MD, on Sat., January 29th. We are planning
to meet at 8:30 AM for breakfast at the Bob Evans
Restaurant at FSK Mall, and then carpool over to
the museum around 9:30 - 10:00. This should be an
interesting trip with lots of vintage memorabilia
and gear on display. Check out their site at
www.radiohistory.org. Also, a great chance to
make those rare visual QSOs with those folks you
talk to all the time on the bands.
 
Talk-ins will be on the 147.060 MADXRA machine,
and 146.520 or 146.580 simplex when out of range
of the repeater. If the weather is bad, we will
go on the following Sat. (same arrangements). A
go/no go decision will be made by 8 AM, and will
be announced on the .06 machine if conditions
threaten. If you want to skip breakfast and meet
us there, plan to do so approx. 11 AM and tell
them you're with the Frederick group.
 
Please let me know by 1/27 if you plan to go, so
that I can give the restaurant and the museum a
count. There is no admission charge, but since
the museum is opening 2 hrs. early for us, a
small donation would be appreciated.
 
I hope to see everyone on the 29th!
