Here are the minutes of the club's February meeting, any corrections,
additions or deletions to me as soon as possible, thanks and 73's

CARROLL COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB MINUTES
The Carroll County Amateur Radio Club met on February 14th at the Fire
Training Center at 7:30PM; there were 16 members and 2 guests present.
President Beckman opened the meeting and made several remarks; the
next RACES drill will be on March 5th; the next club meeting will be on
March 14th and it will be election night; nominations are open and will
be open until the election; several pieces of mail were read; FYI John
K3KWO wants to try PSK on 2 meters, 144.550 USB on Thursday evenings at
8:30PM, John will also run the digital station at field day; Mike N3VOP
mentioned that the Richmond VA Hamfest is this coming weekend and Jack
Kolb has a computer he would like to donate to anyone who wants it.
Secretary report - Joe N3YIM reported the minutes are posted in the
radio room, and there was no old business to be completed, Jerry N3GQK
moved to accept, seconded by Mike N3VOP, voted and approved.
Treasurer's report - Bill N3WM was out of town, Joe N3YIM read a copy
of the financial report, and Mike N3VOP motioned to accept the report,
seconded by Shirley KB3KYJ seconded, voted and approved.
Board report - Steve N3SB gave a report on the boards meeting at
Harry's on Saturday the 12th of February, there was a discussion of the
up coming election, we have the following nominations; President - Steve
N3SB; VP - Open; Secretary - Bill WM3N; Treasurer - Open; Board of
Directors - John K3KWO; Chuck N3TOT; Frank K3MTT; Jerry N3GQK and Bill
N3WM who is on the board without election because of his position as
repeater trustee. Steve went on the explain the jobs of the various
elected officials in response to a question from a member and he would
like to change the approach to the meeting with less business and more
presentations about ham related subjects; along that line several
members expressed a desire to have a soldering and a class a use of the
volt meter, and many other topics to be addressed.
Committees -
ARES/RACES - group met in January and plans are to meet monthly,
they want to establish an SOP (Standing Operating Procedures) for the
group which will include operating skills, frequencies and references to
mention a few.
Club Liaison - Chuck N3TOT reported that the next ARES/RACES meeting
will be on February 26th at the FTC; the University of Michigan will
present a seminar to discuss Community Preparedness for Emergencies at
the Carroll County Community College.
Steve N3SB showed an LC meter he had built over a weekend and
explained how it operates, he also showed a small all band Chinese radio
that will become a part of his go-kit, it does it all AM, FM, SSB, CW,
etc., they are quite inexpensive and very sensitive on all bands.
The 50/50 was won by Bill WM3N, $15.00. There being no further
business, the meeting adjourned at 9:20PM.
