The meeting started with a presentation by Doug N5LBJ on the use of a Volt/Ohm meter.

 

After the presentation, the business portion of the meeting began at 9:02PM.

 

Nathan W3ADX distributed the tickets for the door prize.

 

Announcements:

     A RACES drill will be held on Tuesday night at ~7:30PM.

     The next club meeting is May 9 at 7:30.

     The flyers for the hamfest are available for distribution.

     The Mid-Atlantic QSO party is May 14-15.

     The Board of Director's decided to donate to this event.

     John K3KWO and Bill W3STG will plan K3PZN's effort.

     The Dayton Hamvention is May 20-22.

     The County will conduct an emergency drill on Fri. June 17.

     Field day is June 25-26.  Mike N3VOP is planning K3PZN's effort.

          He has the paperwork ready to submit to the public school system.

          The planned site is Mount Airy Middle School.

          He is seeking station captains, and wishes to have 3 digital stations this year.

     The picnic will be held in July, for now it looks like Gambrill State Park.

          The Board of Director's is sponsoring a QSL card design contest. (There is a prize)

          The membership will select the winner at the July picnic.

     Mike N3VOP has printed copies of the QSL manager info for members.

     Jack Kolb donated several books to the club.

     A quick poll showed that ~75% of the club can operate packet radio.

 

Bill W3STG presented the Secretary's report. John K3KWO moved Jim K4CGY seconded.  Approved by unanimous consent.

 

Bill N3WM presented the Treasurer's report.  Joe N3YIM moved Sean KB3IMT seconded.  Approved by unanimous consent.

 

Steve N3SB presented the Board's report.  Approved by unanimous consent.

Clint W3ARS inquired why there was a password required to use the club's computers.  After some discussion, he moved that the station committee should create a generic club account for the club members to use to operate the computers, but this account should not have admin privileges.  Al K3ZE seconded the motion.  After some debate, the motion was approved by unanimous consent.  Doug N5LBJ stated that the account would be created within 7 days.

 

The door prize, a radio shack VOM was won by Nathan W3ADX.

 

The meeting was ajourned.
