REMNANTS OF TROPICAL DEPRESSION FRANCES
UPDATE #1
The Carroll County Office of Public Safety is currently monitoring Tropical
Depression Frances and its projected path. This office will continue to
monitor all available weather information and take the necessary measures
for the protection of the citizens of Carroll County. Any weather-related
increases in the activity of Emergency Services will generate a Level 1

Tropical Depression Frances will move northeast along the Appalachians
today through Thursday producing locally heavy rainfall in the 1"-3" range
east of the mountains. The risk of short-lived tornadoes will increase
across Central Maryland and East Central Virginia through tonight. This
risk includes the Baltimore and Washington metro area. Yesterday, Tropical
Depression Frances produced several short-lived tornadoes in the
Carolina's.
Standard precautions are in order as this event is being monitored. A flood
watch remains in effect through Thursday. Citizens living in low-lying and
flood-prone areas are urged to take the necessary precautions in the event
of severe flooding. The Office of Public Safety will issue more current
updates as information becomes available or if necessary.
