[K3PZN-List] Help needed for the Mason-Dixon Hamfest

I'll be there. haven't missed one yet. And as always, I made a deal with the
man upstairs and the weatherman. But next year it is someone elses turn. I
can't be fasting from DX contacts for a whole year  ... just too much for
one ham. Especially an almost 60 year old one.

Greetings Friends;

The club's biggest fundraising event is coming up this weekend -- the
Mason-Dixon Hamfest. The success of our hamfest is CRITICAL in order for the
club to be able to financially support all it's projects such as: Field Day,
Repeaters, and Station improvements, as well as the license fess and
insurance
the club pays for to protect us all. The suceess of our hamfest requires all
it's members to help out.

We've had successful hamfests for the past 14 years, and we should be
successful
this year as well. Often times though, it's required some heroic efforts
from
folks like Tom KB3EMN, who willingly spends almost six hours standing on
Smith
Avenue directing cars, or from his son Joe KB3DSR who has spent just as much
time selling tickets at the main gate. I don't think it's fair to expect
these
gentlemen to extend themselves so far when there are other members who could
help out.

I put together a hamfest volunteer sign-up sheet, dividing all the major
tasks
into time slots, which was circulated at the last club meeting. It's about
half
full. We still need lots of help, most urgently with ticket sales, and with
teardown and clean-up.

If you didn't sign up to help out with the hamfest, please contact me to get
on
the list.

Also -- while I have your attention -- think positive thoughts about having
clear, sunny weather this Sunday!
