We were visited by a prospective new Ham and club member, Matt (sorry, I
didn't get his last name).  He is studying for his Tech ticket and needs
some assistance.  Matt is 20 yrs. old, has reddish hair cut in a crew cut,
wears glasses and is about 5'10" tall.  Really nice kid. Very mannerly and
very enthusiatic.

John W3JJH has graciously offerred to loan him a radio once he gets his
ticket.  I have offerred my help him with his studies.  I told him that
whenever he was ready to take the test, we would make arrangements.

While it is always an honor to Elmer a new Ham, especially a young guy like
Matt, I would rather see this as a group effort.  If it's the village that
raises the child, then it's club that raises the new Ham.  Let's take this
kid under our collective wings and get him all the way up to Amateur
