NEXT FLIGHT
NASA Wallops Flight Facility, Virginia -- October 1
WHAT DO WE DO NOW? As successful as our flight
yesterday was, we are going to try to match or
outdo ourselves -- within 24 hours!
The winner of SimSat-1A were students and new folks
who tried to copy telemetry *AND* the contributors
of the High-Altitude Balloon Experimenters Net as
led by WA3NAN, the Goddard Amateur Radio Club
station, and in particular, member Hugh O'Donnell,
W3FUO. The net concurrent with the mission was
worth a million bucks!
To see the first photos, go to the web site
http://www.patkilroy.com/simsat/ and click the
highlighted link under "Schedule".
We will try it AGAIN at 3 p.m. EDT. The flight
designation will be SimSat-1B.
We hope to also see you on the 7204 kHz net
during mission. I'm not sure if WA3NAN will be
able to handle NCS duties again, but if not, I
trust someone will rise to the occasion and help
coordinate activities.
The IDC telemetry segment will recognize yet
another worthy group dear to the SimSat "family".
If you don't have much time to participate then
you are welcome to at least tune in 147.45 MHz
between 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. EDT where ever you
may be at the time. Signals might again be
heard easily with a hand held transceiver and
its little rubber duck antenna.
Good luck and strong signals!
Cheers,
Pat Kilroy
