Nice read - we were simplex for about 3 hours during Francis, the 
microwave dishes and waveguide blew apart on the Harris tower and for a 
while were swinging around up there hitting our DB228 bashing 5 of the 8 
dipoles apart, you could actually hear the impacts in the repeater audio 
as they caused desence. Our backup repeater antenna then blew off the 
hospital (found it hanging by the hardline over the side the next day). 
We went to simplex for about 2 hours, once I got another operator to 
work NCS I went up and set up an antenna in the stairwell on the 8th 
floor and we had the repeater back, 3 or so hours afer that the stuff 
finished blowing off the tower and we got our main repeater back with a 
very messed up pattern. The main machine stayed solid for jeanne since 
all the debris was already blown off, on the down side we never found 
the antenna for the UHF machine, just 6" of  it still on the hotel roof.
