Keith,
That's good as we need to review the tapes prior to the course. As far as
the course handbook is concerned, is it included as part of the course
package or does it have to be purchased seperately? If copies have to be
purchased, then I should think that the funds should come out of the T&E
committee's budget. Without sounding like a cheapskate, I've spent quite
enough Yankee Greenbacks buying books to teach the various and sundry
courses as well as handbooks for students.
To All:
I have ten (10) copies of "Now You're Talking" for anyone who will be taking
the Weekend Tech Express course.

For future classes using the ARRL Technician Class Video Course, I
would like to strongly reccomend the use of the following manual:
ARRL Technician Class Video Course for Ham Radio Licensing by KING
Schools (ARRL catalog # 8845)
This book follows the tapes almost "word for word." It makes it very
easy for the student to take appropriate notes and also includes
practice exams. These books have narrowed down all the concepts
needed for passing the Element 2 exam to 35 pages of information. The
books are slightly more expensive, however. $29.00 retail. (See below
for more information.)
The "Now You're Talking" books are still extremely usefull for classes
being taught without the video tapes. They also are excellent
reference books. Therefore, I would reccomend we hold onto any copies
we may have.
I intend to bring the original video course tapes as well as working
copies to the club meeting on Jan 10, 2005 for placement in our
library.
