Gents,

No one is born with the ability to copy CW. It is learned skill, like tying your shoes, to type using both hands
instead of two fingers. And, like riding a bicycle or motorcyle, once you get it, the skill never leaves you. If you
do have a straight key, get on, use Hamscope or MixW to do the copying for you. Most of what you hear is
less than 10 words a minute. BTW, those of us around here used to go to the Fallon Building, downtown
Baltimore City! Wow the trip was enough to make you nervous wreck, then there was the parking. I took my
CW test for the 20 wpm using my Heath Kit HD-10 sideswiper. Still have that old guy and works FB.

I have no opinions on whether there should be CW or no CW. If it were today and I was deciding whether to
become an Amateur Radio operator, not sure I would be interested. Yea, still need a license for MARS.

Happy New Year to all and thanks to all for the flowers and phone calls. Of course, the ultimate friend and
volunteer who went beyond the call of duty, special thanks.
