[K3PZN-List] Civil War Century Assistance Needed

Dear Club Members:

 

The BBC is once again holding the Civil War Century bike ride starting in
Thurmont, MD on Saturday, September 11, 2004.  We are now making plans for
assisting the BBC as we have done for the past 4 years.  Last year we had 23
amateurs come out to assist with the ride (mostly from the CCARC) and the
ride went very well.  Most participants were praising the professional
assistance they were given by the amateur operators. Everyone had a good
time.  Given that we have been doing this for the past few years, we have
worked out most of the bugs and it is much easier to get things running more
smoothly than it has been in the past.

 

This year, we plan to participate once again.  The BBC offers mileage
reimbursement for all amateurs that assist.  This includes mileage to and
from your home to the ride start as well as any possible SAG miles you may
incur during the day.  They reimburse at the current corporate rate (last
year 31 cents per mile).  You also get all the food you can eat throughout
the day which includes homemade ice cream.  All helpers also get a free
T-shirt.

 

We will need help from about 6 AM to 6 PM.  But any time that you can put in
will be greatly appreciated.

 

So please email me directly ASAP or see me at the next club meeting and let
me know if you can help out and what times you can be available.  I will be
making the same announcement at the next club meeting and providing sign-up
sheets.  It would be great to see a good showing once again and I'm sure the
BBC would appreciate you support.
