ARES and CCARC Members:

Hurricane Isabel is being predicted to make landfall somewhere on a path up the Chesapeake Bay. Now is the time to ensure your emergency preparedness. Check your antennas, batteries, flashlights, your home and family. What will you do if there is no electrical power for a day or more? Look around your yard and secure anything that could be blown away or into your house. Can your antennas survive winds in excess of 50 mph? What is your Family Emergency Plan?

And after all is secure at your home, are you able to help with Emergency Services Communications? The Red Cross is planning to start a 72 hour watch on Thursday at their Hurricane Watch Center (HWC) in Bel Air and Central Maryland Chapter (CMC) Center in Baltimore. The Disaster Communication Lead, Mr. Frank Eilbacher, has requested resource information of all EC's in Central Maryland.

In view of the above, I need to know your availability to support Emergency Communications in Carroll County and the Red Cross. Please respond AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to the following questions sending your reply to my e-mail address - [email protected]
