HELLO TO ALL;

HERE ARE THE BOARD MINUTES FROM OCTOBER, CORRECTIONS TO ME ASAP.

JOE :-)

CARROLL COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO BOARD MINUTES

The Carroll County Amateur Radio Club Board of Directors met on October
22d at the Fire Training Center.

President Beckman called the meeting to order at 1935, members present
were Steve N3SB, Bill N3WM, Frank K3MTT, John AK3Z, Bryan AA3XZ, Jerry
N3GQK and Joe N3YIM.

As the first item of business President Beckman reported on the mail
received, some renewal and new member dues were received; prizes for the
Hamfest were received, and posted to the club web site; a letter from
the Boy Scouts of America was received reestablishing the Venture Crews
program; a map to the hamfest is now posted to the web site; he
suggested that we provide the noon meal for those individuals who are
working the Hamfest, not to exceed $5.00; and admit unlicensed spouses
free to the Hamfest, these two items will bring us inline with other
local Hamfests; a QRP club will be present to give a QRP presentation
and a QRP seminar will be presented by Lloyd Lachall K3ESE.

The Mason-Dixon Hamfest was discussed in detail, some assignments were
made from those present, the only thing we need now is good weather.

The van project from Maryland Public Television was discussed; a letter
requesting a donation of the van was sent to MPT. Questions that remain
to be settled are, where to store the van if we get it, and how to get
it here; we need to coordinate with Buddy Redman and or the Carroll
County Firemans Association to solve the storage problem.

The Carroll County Vo-Tech as agreed to take on the project to install a
starter on the generator, the club will absorb all costs related to the
fabrication of the starter.

The November Sweepstakes will be held at the club station on November
15-16, we are hoping for another sweep, food and drink will be provided,
the board approved up to $150.00 to cover the cost.

The Annual Holiday Dinner will be held on December 7th at Boulevard and
Beyond, 5-8 PM, cost will remain the same as in the past, $5.00 for
members and $15.00 for guests, $200.00 has been approved for prizes and
decorations.

Ham of the Year, it was discussed that we can have the membership vote
by secret ballot for the award; have the membership nominate persons for
the award to the board and the board select the recipient; there needs
to be some criteria for the award finalized.

At the January meeting we will have show and tell of a project the
member built him or herself, does not necessarily have to be amateur
radio related.

Club sales of surplus equipment will be auctioned and sold to the
highest bidder at a future meeting; all items will be sold as-is only
and will be so indicated on the bill of sale.

The Board decided that the Trustee of the repeater should have the
responsibility to select and appoint control operators that he feels are
required.

The payment of Annual Dues was discussed and tabled until a later meeting.

There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 2216.

Submitted;
