There will be 2 loops perpendicular to one another. Each has 85 feet of
wire and will be triangular with the bottom horizontal section split in the
middle and sagging down to the control box which will switch directions and
is grounded to a ground rod. The support needs to be non-metallic and
about 25-30 feet. You may see the design at www.wb0w.com. Look under K9AY
receiving loops. This is the next best thing to a beverage on 80 and 160.
For receiving only and fed to a preamp. They sell a fiberglass mast kit
but is very pricey. If I can get the PVC sections stiff enough this should
work.
Also would like your materials list for the 40m support you used at field
day since I may use one of these to support four dipoles hanging vertically
from top to bottom and pulled out at the center to support it (also
perpendicular) and fed with phasing box.

Hey,
What is the diameter of the loop that you are building? Or one
of the leg size? Are you going to use cross loops 90 degrees from each
other like I had at field day? If so, what do you want to use for
switching between the two antennas?
SeeYa,
Doug

Members:
We will be having fun participating in ARRL Sweepstakes this weekend at
K3PZN. Our equipment is in place and we do have adequate antennas for
the
event. We will have lots of great food for Saturday evening and
breakfast
on Sunday.
Start time is 4:00 PM Saturday. The contest will run continuously from
that time up to as late as 10:00 PM Sunday evening.
Please let me know if you will attend since I must be sure there is
adequate food for all. I will need a headcount. It would also be great
if
you could let me know what times you would prefer to operate, although
our
schedule will be very flexible.
Thanks.
John, AK3Z
