Here are the minutes from last evenings meeting, any corrections to me

CARROLL COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB Minutes
The Carroll County Amateur Club met on March 10th at the Fire Training
Center.
President Beckman called the meeting to order at 1930 local.
There were 33 members and 3 guests present, each individual introduced
themselves.
Steve N3SB, asked each member to check the current roster for
correctness; the next Board meeting will be March 19th at the FTC
7:30PM; elections will be conducted this evening and all positions are
open for nominations; April will be the committee formation and approval
meeting for the coming year.
Keith KB3HHK has current Maryland Road maps for the taking, and he has
enrolled in the ARRL Emergency Communications course and will take the
course via the internet.
Mike N3VOP displayed his Marconi Special Event QSL card he received
recently.
Jerry N3SOK mentioned the fact that a County Emergency Communications
Coordinator is to be appointed; Steve suggested that this might be a
good job for a Ham.
Tony KF3AK showed a copy of AutoCall which has recently been improved,
and stated that the Carroll County Club has been submitting information
on a regular basis.
Jack if preparing a presentation on Cell Phones and asked for anyone
with information or articles on antennas to kindly forward them to him.
Upon completion he would be happy to make the presentation to the club.
Secretary Report, Joe N3YIM reported that the only old business was the
request for an increase in funds for the Station Committee; Motioned by
Jerry N3SOK, seconded by Keith that the minutes be approved, voted and
passed.
Treasurers Report, Bill N3WM reported that the club is in good financial
shape, bills are paid and we are over projected funds for the year;
motioned by Frank K3MTT and seconded by John N3MNM to accept the report,
voted and passed.
Board of Directors Report, John AK3Z reported on the February BoD
meeting, copies of those minutes are posted in the radio room.
Committee Reports;
ARES/RACES � Phil KE3FL asked for members who would like to join the
team, there is a form on the web site for submission for those
interested, if you need a photo for your ID see Phil.
Publications � Joe reported that the next issue of �NEWSWAVES� will be
out in April, if anyone has input please send it to him.
Station � needs the approval for additional monies to buy necessary
equipment to update the station; the plate for the tower is on hold for
the time being, but must be completed in order to install new antennas;
he has not heard from the manufacturer of the antenna that was returned;
at the request of several members he has opened the station on Tuesday
and Thursday evenings in January and February with very little
participation.
Training and Education � Clint W3ARS, a test session is set for March
20th at 8PM at the FTC; there are several applicants in the Thursday
evening class and several others who will test that evening; there was
one person who passed the Technician class at the last test session in
February; he thanked Larry WX3F for his fine class on PSK he gave on Feb
22d; the Technician class tapes he wanted to purchase for the club are
being updated because of the new question pool being implemented in July
and asked that the purchase be made this fall when the new ones are ready.
Membership � Frank has brought several copies of the current roster for
distribution to all who want them; he has badges for those who need them
and have had their picture taken; if you need a picture taken see him.
Old Business � The motion to increase the station committee budget by
$1700 in order to purchase equipment was voted and passed.
The evening raffle was won by Jim K4CGY, $27.50
The election of Officers and Members at Large was conducted with the
following results;

They will officially take office on April 1st 2003.
Steve presented mugs and pins to the members who participated in the
November 2002 Sweepstakes; the mugs are in recognition of a sweep of all
80 sections during the contest.
Clint reported that the idea of having a Special Event station a Ft
McHenry has been turned down by the Fort supervisor as not being
appropriate for the occasion.
Al K3ZE presented awards to Sean KB3IMI as a new ham, and to the Turks &
Caicos Island DX Team for display in the club station, club members on
the team were Dave K3LP, Steve N3SB and Jim WX3B.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 2050.
