JOE
CARROLL COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
Finally with the cooperation of the weather the February BoD meting was
held on March 5th 2003 at the Fire Training Center.
President Beckman N3SB, called the meeting to order at 1935.
Board members present were Steve N3SB, Clint W3ARS, Bill N3WM, Frank
K3MTT, John AK3Z and Joe N3YIM.
Steve showed a revised flyer for the Tailgate Fest and Hamfest, a two
sided flyer with both events shown on the front and the map on the
reverse, the revised flyer with some modification was approved, the
Board also decided that a card mailing was more feasible than mailing
the flyer, Steve will make a card similar to the one used last year for
the mailing.
John reported that Radio Shack is selling their 25 watt 2 Meter mobile
for less than $100, and asked if the Board would like him to get one, if
they are still available, as a prize for the Hamfest, it was decided
that we did not have a problem giving a radio that has been
discontinued, approved by the Board.
Shirts with the CCARC logo, in flyer green, have been purchased, for
those individuals who will pass out flyers at the various Hamfests.
Bill reported that an insurance policy for the clubs equipment was
acquired, but the price with a $500 deductible seemed to be very high, a
quote from the ARRL will be requested, the station committee will
provide a list with serial numbers and replacement prices for submission
to ARRL.
The annual election of Officers and Board members will be held on March
10th at the regular meeting, several positions are open for nomination.
The Board approved a request from T-Marc for a two year membership for
$24, and a $25 donation to Al Waller who handles our E-mail list.
The contracts for Tailgate Fest 4 and the Hamfest were reviewed, some
minor changes were needed and when completed will be signed.
Bill reported that the club is in fine shape financially, all bills are
paid, and the personal taxes that are due by April 15th will be paid.
Clint suggested that the Web Page be purged to take out links to
non-member web pages, outdated pictures and other items that no longer
apply.
A raffle for a quality radio was discussed, tickets will be $5 each and
the drawing will be held at the Mason-Dixon Hamfest, this is not a
Hamfest prize.
The next Board meeting will be held on March 19th at the FTC.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 2125.
