Members,
Unless we have any cancellations, we have reached the minimum 20 combined
items order for the "Club Discount" from B&B Embroidery. Note that you not
only have a choice of the garments color, but also the embroidery thread
color. The club colors are maroon and silver. Dave of B&B has a light gray
thread that he thinks will be a good match. Contrasting colors work best,
i.e., dark thread colors on light garments and vice versa.
Apologies to John K3KWO and the others guys who wanted to see the stuff last
Thursday evening, but I was right in the middle of class and we ran late. I
will have the samples available again this coming Thursday evenings, 2/20 &
2/27, prior to class only, between 7:00pm and 7:30pm. The ordering process
will go QRT 2/28. You snooze, you lose... this is a one time shot. In
future, club members may order items with the club logo, but at the retail
prices.
After you have given me your completed forms, I re-type (re-word process?)
them and e-mail the order back to you for verification. I'm trying to
eliminate any chance of errors and ensure that you get what you want.
I have heard some comments about the stuff being a bit on the pricey side.
The samples that we received are first rate and the embroidery is beautiful!
Very professional. The "Mountaineer" jacket (replaces the Boulder jacket)
is every bit as good as the same style jackets from Lands End and L.L. Bean
and go for $56.00 embroidered with the club logo and your callsign. The
shell is a coated nylon that is highly water repellent and the polar fleece
lining is similar to Polartec 200. The pockets are even lined with polar
fleece I think that this jacket is the best-bang-for-the-buck-buy!
I am looking into two other items: club logo patches and FD "job shirts".
These are navy blue heavy weight sweatshirts that you may have seen the
volunteer firemen wearing. They have a denim collar, zip plackard, and
denim elbow patches. There is a 9" deep "radio pocket" on the right side
chest. Based on the interest of the membership, I will work on this in the
Fall.
Please call or e-mail with any questions or comments.
