[K3PZN-List] Civil War Century

Fellow Club Members:

The Baltimore Bicycling Club will hold its annual Civil War Century Ride on
Saturday, September 13, 2003 in Thurmont, MD.  In previous years, our club,
along with BRATS and Frederick Amateur Radio Club has helped out with
emergencies and SAG services for distressed riders.  We are in dire need of
volunteers for the event this year to provide communications between rest
stops and start/finish and possibly SAG service. We would be grateful for
any time you can offer on the day of the event.  The event typically runs
from 6AM to 6PM.  All mileage to and from the ride start and throughout the
course of the day shall be reimbursed to each volunteer at a rate of 31
cents/per mile.  Each participant will receive a free T-shirt and unlimited
food, snacks, and desserts.  It is usually a fun time for all and provides a
great way to promote amateur radio and is also great practice for teamwork
and communications drills.
