Dear CCARC SSB (Voice) Enthusiasts;

Taking a page of out N3SB's book - I'm also looking
for operators...for the Phone "high" station -
concentrating on 20 meters. There may be some overlap
on 10 and 15 meters as well - depending upon other
final team arrangements.

20 meter SSB is certainly one of the "money" bands
during our field day operation, and it sports
probagation all over the USA, Canada, South America
and of course DX to halfway around the world. Two
years ago we got a 5x9+ signal report from New Zealand
shortly after we set up our beam.

Features of the 20 meters station will include:

1. A Yaesu FT-1000MP tranceiver with a Heil HC-4
boomset - and an extra set of headphones (or two) for
others to listen in on. The 1000MP is equipped with
ALL available SSB filters to make digging through your
pileup a breeze.

2. A Yaesu DVS-II voice keyer. This will help you
rest your voice and let the machine CQ for you!

3. A computer interface which keeps track of your
band - so you don't have to tell the CT contest
logging software what band you're on.

4. I'm hoping to have one of the club's tribanders on
top of the 50 foot AB/577 mast for my antenna. This
is NOT guaranteed - but things are looking good.

Joe, N3YIM has been generous enough to volunteer for
duty Sunday morning from 5:00am until noon or so.

This leaves Saturday from 2:00pm until 5:00am
available for operators - and from noon on Sunday
until 2:00pm.

Please email me at [email protected] or call me at
410-374-9233 and let me have your preferred operating
times!

Thanks - and I'm looking forward to a great field day
turnout!

73,

Jim Nitzberg WX3B [Phone High Station]
