There are several good possibilities in the South Carroll area, one
of which I came accross this weekend, that is the new Freedom
Park/Ballfields on Slacks/Raincliff Road just across from the
Central Laundry Camp. There appears to be permanent and scattered
facilities and tons of room most of which is in ballfields. There
was as I recall one or two pravillions. At the end was a large empty
area that was leveled and stone base as if it were to be paved some
day. I think this may be run by the Freedom Recreation Council. Un
fortunately I don't know anyone associated with the Council or how
to get in touch. The only conflict may be playoff games around that
time but those schedules I'm sure are available.
The Sykesville/Freedom Fie company grounds are large. Same for
Winfield. Just behind Winfied is a park named Mayeski Park.
Springfield Hospital would be an excellent place but the red tape is
long although the Warfield Complex now annexed by Sykesville may
have possibilities.
Patapsco State Parl, McKeldin Area in South Carroll is a fantastic
place with many pravillions. Haven't been there in awhile as they
charge. I think BRATS have been going there for FD.
Piney Run is another possibility. It has facilities, is accessible
and would be a good place to get publicity and exposure.
