[K3PZN-List] CB Net Results

Hey Phil and other members;

I was on the CB channels 40 and 35 between 8:55 and 9:10 PM.  Sadly I
made no contacts, which to me is no surprise.  I only heard 1 person, and
that was Phil (KE3FL) from Mount Airy.  He was coming in pretty noisy but
I was able to make out it was him.  I tried to contact back but my small
signal probably didn't make it.  

My set up was pretty pitiful.  I took my hand held CB talkie (1st
mistake) and hooked it up to a mobile scanner antenna(2nd mistake). 
Because I was having trouble getting full power in my house I hooked up
everything my car and powered it from the cigarette lighter.  Now I
haven't been in 2-way radio and that was all I had.  The only other 2-way
radios I have is a set of FRS transceivers, and I know those won't carry
far.  Maybe one day I'll get a full powered rig with an appropriate
antenna, but until then this has been a learning experience.  

See you all tomorrow (Thursday) night at the meeting, and wish me luck on
my technician exam.
