Dear CCARCers;

I little update on me.  I finally got my HT!!  It a 2M Vertex VX-150.  I
was going to go for the model Phil had suggested to me, but I found out
this model was for sale for the same price and it had more features.  One
of the neatest things about it's design is that it's LCD is on the top of
the tranciever, so I can look at it from my belt like a pager.

I have been on the air twice, and so far have made 3 QSO's.  Two of the
QSO's were from the CCARC, Larry and Kevin.  At the time I made the QSO's
I had the wall wart AC power supply hooked up, so there was a noticable
hum in my transmission.  Other than that my audio quality was good.  I
also learned from my home I can hit the CCARC repeater with only 2 watts.
 So hope to meet all of you on the air.

To Clint, if you get this;  I plan to attend your CW class tonight.  The
tapes you gave me go in a different order than your class, so I know a
few letters you haven't taught yet.  I've been pretty busy lately with
family affairs so I haven't devoted as much time as I should have to
practice.  Hope to see you tonight,
