 - Wednesday Feb 6! Montgomery ARC hosts Al Waller K3TKJ - Owner of 
   QSL.NET. I will be attending the meeting & will ask him if he would 
   be able to also talk at a CCARC meeting.  (ke3fl) If you would
   like to attend, come on down to the Rockville Exit on 270 check in
   to 146.955/R and ask for directions to the meeting site.  (7:30 PM
   in the EOB cafeteria.)

 - THE GREEN MOUNTAIN REPEATER ASSOCIATION INC. is putting together a 
   group purchase of doppler DFing equipment. If they get 20 or more 
   people the cost comes down to $118/each. If you are interested you

 - Comments are due February 12, 2002, in an FCC Notice of Proposed
   Rule Making and Order, ET Docket 01-278, that ARRL has targeted as
   a potential band threat.  Reply comments are due on March 12,
   2002.  The proceeding deals in part with a potential threat to the
   popular 70-cm band from Part 15 RF identification devices proposed
   for deployment between 425 and 435 MHz.

   available on the ARRL Web site

 The National Conference of Volunteer Examiner Coordinators' Question
 Pool Committee has released a revised and expanded Amateur Extra
 class (Element 4) question pool into the public domain.  The new
 question pool becomes effective July 1, 2002, and must be used to
 generate all Extra class written examinations administered on or
 after that date.  It replaces the Extra class question pool released
 April 15, 2000--the day Amateur Radio "restructuring" became
 effective. Now 806 questions to choose 50 out of.
