Carroll county amateur radio club
Holiday dinner and MiNi meeting minutes

The Carroll County Amateur Radio Club held their annual Holiday Dinner 
and a Mini Meeting at Boulevard and Beyond December 8th 2002.

There were 39 members and 17 guests present.

President Beckman held a short Mimi Meeting following the meal and 
dessert, he thanked all those who attended and stated this was the 
biggest turnout in recent memory for the dinner, he stated that there 
would be no meeting on the 9th; next Board of Directors meeting is the 
18th at the Fire Training Center; next weekend December 14-15th is the 
10 meter QSO party and WX3B will have his multi-multi station in 
operation; guest speaker for January is Tom Abernathy W3TOM Maryland/DC 
Section manager.

Jerry N3GQK and John AK3Z displayed the recent purchases, a pair of ICOM 
transceivers for the station; this will give the station a great 2 meter 
and 440 capability we haven�t had before, and John also announced the 
station will be opened on Tuesday and Thursday starting December 10th, 
opening at 7PM and closing depending on the participation.

Jack Kolb W0 expired, gave his ham related rendition of the Night before 
Christmas with a Carroll County ARC twist.

Steve N3SB introduced and thanked all his Officers and Committee 
Chairmen for their efforts this past year, and included those 
individuals who do not hold Chair or Officer Positions thanks for 
helping make this a very good year.

President Beckman presented Clint W3ARS, the CCARC Ham of the Year for 
his contributions as a Board Member; setup and operation of the special 
event station at the Tailgate Fest; his support to all ARES events this 
past year; chairmanship of Field Day and his efforts making K3PZN the 
Second highest 7A station in the nation; and last but not least his 
duties as Chairman of the Education and Training Committee.

Door prizes were then given out to the lucky ticket holders, there being 
nothing further the meeting adjourned.
