Larry,

Thanks for letting us know two weeks after the event.  Not a problem at all
as family obligations should come first.  But we were all convinced that you
were going to attend given your emails and waited an extra 45 minutes for
you to arrive.  We were a bit puzzled at your complete "disappearance" and
were quite concerned that you had an accident or suddenly fell ill.  A phone
call or an email would have helped a lot and also prevented me from spending
extra money on drinks I would not have had to buy given the late hour and my
extreme hunger. But we really were concerned about you.

As far as the repeater goes, I think the time for digital has come.  I have
been debating purchase of a Yaesu digital radio.  Ray already has one.  I
was looking at the repeater directories and see the population of D-star
repeaters growing but don't see much at all for Yaesu unless it is running
APCO 25.  I have not researched enough to see what formats it provides.  But
perhaps you and/or Andy can enlighten me.  So you have my vote--I am all for
trying something new.

Gentlemen:

I would like to apologize for not making the board meeting.  I hope you all
had a great experience at Sukuras.  My daughter needed my help in moving
some furniture.

What I was going to bring to the table that day was a recommendation to
participate in the Yaesu digital repeater program for clubs.  It is such a
sweet deal for $500.  We can have an analog/digital repeater for a fraction
of the cost of other systems.
