Help! I'm still at work in Greenbelt!

We can talk about such a balloon . . .

Maybe it's time for an experiment. But
one thing we know for certain, isn't a
dipole usually kinda in "T" fashion?
A balloon will take one end way up high,
and it will move around like a cattle
in the wind. Is this okay? Can our
antenna design account for such drift
and being "finniky" at times?

Tell me how much antenna/wire mass you
want to lift and then we can calculate
how much balloon/helium will be needed
to handle the task.

Can you sketch the antenna design you
have in mind?

More to chat about. Thanks.

Cheers,

Pat

Hello Pat

The meeting was devoted to field day. Curt gave his presentation and also
has some suggested antenna thoughts. Here is what I quickly took down for :

SSB 80M W3JJH WIRE ANTENNA
SSB 40M AK3Z FULL LOOP ANTENNA
SSB 20M KB3WAV YAGI #1
SSB 15M K1RF YAGI#2
SSB 10M W3XB YAGI#2

CW#1 WX3B YAGI 2 OR WIRE ANTENNA
CW#2 WB8YY EAGLE 1 VERTICAL ANTENNA

DIGITAL K3KWO AND HIS CAB

VHF/UHF N3VOP

PAT I want to pick your brain Do you think you could suspend one end of a
diapole with a weather balloon? How much do you think the helium would
costs?
