Hello to the board,
I would like to throw my call in as a 2009-2010 Director. I think that we still have a lot of work to do in the area of digital modes.

Yikes -- it is catching!
In theory, as I understand it, all the slots are 'open' except Trustee (our excuse is why go to the trouble of making changes with the FCC when Bill fills the need so well).
Practically, our VP and treasurer are 'completely open' at request of the incumbants!
Remember last year we had multiple candidates for president and directors when we voted.
The tougher part is nominating appropriate candidates that fit and can serve within their limits.
I would be glad to serve another term as director, but perhaps the nominating committe (board) would like to ID a few more candidates than positions for director ??
I would like to further engage the board on 'refreshing our club vision' and setting priorities for our future (in particular the upcoming year) -- as either a member or continueing director. honestly i have more questions than answers, but I do feel the need to refresh our meeting format and our planned activities.
By the way, just handing a visitor one of Rich's board kits led to Dave assembling it, and JOINING our club! I would like to bring some more new, sometimes younger blood out of the woodwork - even if they can attend few meetings.

Oops, I missed too.
Someone can nominate me for the same position again
for this coming year and I won't bark at them. But,
then again, exactly HOW MANY open slates do we have
at this time?
Thanks,
Pat

Ok I know I send out enough email, but I failed to alert the board to my absence this evening ! Guilty as charged. I will read the minutes when available, and hopefully I wasn't given too much homework in my absence. I have a duty at church that has me occupied each Wednesday night, for 5 more weeks.
Had I been there, I may have encouraged (challenged) the board to keep focus on increasing (as Steve mentioned recently) the 'experience' of our monthy meetings. Definitely we should aim for content to address our diverse interests each month to the extent possible, and include content that enlightens 'novices' thru post-graduate 'extra' class hams. I suggest we discuss modest adjustments we can make to increase the experience, particularly to those less familiar with the club.
Off my soap-box -- let me know if I have any homework.
Joe Tracey should be considered as a future meeting speaker, as he has done some in depth technical work building a spectrum analyzer - and he may have other content he wants to discuss.
