Fire Training Center; there were 26 members and 2 guests present.
President Beckman called the meeting to order at 1930 local time, and
made the following announcements; there will be a RACES meeting tomorrow
evening at 7:30PM, let Larry WX3F know if you will attend so he can make
arrangements for you to have access to the EOC; next board meeting will
be Jan 19th at the FTC, 7:30PM; election of officers will be conducted
in March and there are opening at most officer positions, members should
step up and become a part of the organization, we need new blood and
ideas to keep the club going; Nathan W3ADX was featured in the Carroll
County Times as our Ham of the Year 2004; a letter from Foundation for
Amateur Radio (FAR) was read announcing that several scholarships are
available and will be awarded this year; a presentation of the SIMSAT
program was given by Pat N8PK and John W3JJH, further information is
available at www.patkilroy.com/simsat/

The Secretary gave his report; a note from Wayne N3UN thanking the
club and members for the flowers and calls while he was on the mend; and
a letter from the club to Mrs. Laird Brown of Dutterer's Florist for
donating the center pieces for the annual Holiday Dinner.
Bill N3WM gave the treasurers report; copy attached to file copy,
motioned by Mike N3VOP and seconded by Larry WX3F to accept, voted and
passed.
John N3MNM said he was approached by a reporter asking him if he knew
of the garage door problem in the Eldersburg area.
The following committees reported;
Club Liaison - Chuck N3TOT reported he has attended a Mass Shelter
Class and Disaster Preparedness meeting as club rep; he was with
President Beckman and Van Chairman Keith W3MDC at the meeting with Rep
Bartlett's aide; he has been coordinating with the County Director of
Emergency Operations; and he said that the rep from Social Services has
asked for additional classes for Mass Shelters.
ARES/RACES - Larry WX3F reported on the RACES drill for the 11th
would be a winter storm scenario; the club ARES/RACES members will meet
on January 29th at the FTC for their 2005 kickoff meeting, meet at 9AM.
Van - Keith W3MDC reported that the van passed the emissions test.
Station - John AK3Z reports that the quad has been removed from the
tower and that the beam has been secured for the winter; the mast will
be replaced and the quad installed in the spring; he asked for
suggestions to improve the club station if there are any.
Digital - John K3KWO says the net is still on Thursday, maybe we
need to make a frequency change to get better participation, may want to
try 2 meters, 144.290 perhaps.
The Bartlett Meeting - Steve N3SB, Chuck N3TOT and Keith W3MDC have
been advised as to the required paper work in order to secure funding
for the van project; the requests for funds will be reviewed in late
January to see who will receive funding.
President Beckman presented awards to Chuck N3TOT and Larry WX3F for
their contributions to the club during 2004.
Nathan W3ADX won the 50/50 raffle of $16.00
