Subject: [K3pzn-board] Gambrill Park sites

Folks-

There are 3 picnic shelters and the "tea room" at
Gambrill State Park.

The picnic shelters have 4 tables, 2 grills,
accomodate 35, and have 1 electric circuit. The
cost is $40.

All shelters have limited views.

Shelter #2: AKA High Knob, Has water fountain
nearby, has view towards Washington county.
Medium parking situation

Shelter #3: AKA Middletown, Has water fountain
nearby, has view towards Middletown, and limited
view towards Frederick. Nearest crowds, Worst
parking. Near Middletown overlook and hiking
trails.

Shelter #4: AKA Frederick, No water noticed. Has
trees blocking view towards Frederick. Powerlines
nearby. Most isolated. Near Frederick overlook.
Best parking. Nearest swings, but they are still
out of sight.

There are three sets of swings. None are next to
shelters. All have park benches for adult
supervision. I'm not sure how many members have
children, and so this may not be an issue.

Also, do we want to operate radios at the picnic?
If not, then views don't matter as much.

There is only one reservation for a shelter on a
Saturday in July so far, so we can pretty much
take our pick.

What dates do we want?

My inclination is Saturday July 16, at shelter #2.

What do you think?
