[K3pzn-board] Lunch with county officials

Good Afternoon Keith,

I actually think that Larry or Phil would be great candidates, since
they are EC or Assist EC's respectively, should be invited to go with you to
the meeting. If they are not available to attend the meeting with the county
officials on Wednesday, I would like to suggest that you, as the only
ARES/RACES official in attendance, try to communicate the groups goals for
the van to the county representatives. I would also suggest that this might
be the right time to ask the county for a greater dialogue in revising the
current outdated emergency response plan. I am suggesting this since you
will have the ear of the Emergency Response Group for the county.

Now, with all that said, could you possibly highlight your agenda
for the meeting with the county officials? Could you summarize what you hope
to achieve from this meeting? Are you going to flat out ask the county to
take financial responsibility for the van? Also, are you going to discuss
formalizing our role in the county emergency response plan?

I would like to suggest maybe sharing your thoughts on this issue in
an email to the board when you have an opportunity. That way we can assist
you with presenting the ARES/RACES members and the club's message on this
topic.

To answer your initial question, if no other board member or
ARES/RACES team member is able to attend this meeting with you, I will
volunteer to attend the meeting with you.

Regards,
Douglas Kearney

I finally was able to arrange a lunch meeting with Bill Martin & company
regarding the MCC. Lunch is scheduled for 11:30 Am @ Applebee's in
Westminster on Wednesday 6/16.

Frank, K3MTT, will be out of town. Would any of you like to come in his
place?
