CARROLL COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB BOARD Minutes

The Carroll County Amateur Radio Club Board of Directors met on February
18th at the QTH of Frank K3MTT, we want to thank Frank and Sandy N3MAK
for hosting the meeting.

President Beckman called the meeting to order at 2015, the following
members and guest were present, Steve N3SB, John AK3Z, Bill N3WM, Joe
N3YIM, Doug N5LBJ, Frank K3MTT and guest Chuck N3TOT.

Steve N3SB read a letter from the Baltimore Bike Club thanking the club
for their support of the Century Bike Ride, John AK3Z suggested that the
club needs to back off of the planning and most of the work for the
ride; the Frederick club needs to step up and take over some of these
task, as most of the ride is in Frederick County.

President Beckman had the following announcements; an audit of the club
financial books will be conducted on Wednesday the 25th at the QTH of
Bill N3WM at 7PM; there will be a meeting with Buddy KD3UZ Carroll
County Communications Director and his staff at Harrys Main Street on
February 26th at 6:30PM, van restoration and access to the new EOC when
constructed will be discussed; the van committee will have complete
control over the restoration, however, the Board of Directors will
continue to head up the fund raising activities, the first draft of the
request for funding was read and discussed with some modifications and
recommended changes.

Goals for restoration and sustaining costs of the communications van
were discussed and will be established after one year of fund raising
has been completed.

The addition of a Life membership was discussed, in order as not to
diminish the life membership presently established within the club a
suggestion to call the paid life membership a paid life membership and
the awarded life membership an honorary life membership in order to
distinguish between the two. The establishment of such a membership will
be cause for a by-law change, the by-laws are in need of some revision
so perhaps both could be accomplished at the same time.

The 285 repeater issue was discussed to the degree that something may
happen beyond Al AK3Zs control that will preclude the turnover of the
repeater to the club; this is understood and will have no effect on the
operations of the clubs repeater system.

Meeting adjourned at 2330.

Submitted;
