USE EXTREME CAUTION!

We have tubes here at MPT which also contain beryllium oxide. YOU DO NOT
WANT TO GET THIS STUFF ON YOUR HANDS! It is DEADLY! You can become
extremely sick just by coming in contact with it! It will be absorbed
through the skin. Take no chances! Rubber/latex gloves, a dust mask and
goggles are MINIMUM protection for dealing with these tubes. Carefully
dispose of the gloves, mask and goggles in a sealed plastic bag.

If the ceramic becomes scratched or broken, evacuate the building and call
for HAZMAT AT ONCE!

Al
As far as I know, those tubes are safe to handle unless they are dropped and
fracture into small pieces and dust. My understanding is ya don't want to
breathe that stuff. Also you need to avoid scrapeing or abraiding which
causes small particles. Latex gloves would probably give protection. Update
me if my memory is incorrect.
