CARROLL COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB  BOARD OF DIRECTORS Minutes

  The Board of Directors of the Carroll County Amateur Radio Club met on 
Wednesday evening the 23d of April at the Fire Training Center.

  President Beckman called the meeting to order at 1950.

   Members present were Steve N3SB, Joe N3YIM, John AK3Z, Frank K3MTT 
and Bryan AA3XZ.

  The main topic of the evening was the 2003-04 club budget, the Board 
is making every effort to have a balanced budget as we had last year, 
with some cutting of committees and some increases in income the Board 
is within several hundred dollars of balancing the budget.   It is the 
intent of the Board to add any monies made over income projection to the 
existing Certificate of Deposit (CD).  The budget will be introduced at 
the June meeting for membership approval.

  There were two motions for the Board to discuss;

1.    The purchase of an Antenna Analyzer for club members use;  the 
Board will recommend that the club reject this motion, there are several 
members who have analyzers and are willing to loan or help those who 
have a need for one, in addition there is a restraint on money until 
after the two major functions this year.

2.    The purchase of the ARRL library;  it was felt by the Board that 
instead of purchasing the entire new library, that it would be better 
off to review the current library and replace those manuals that are 
currently out of date, if this will save money we will recommend the 
club do this, it should be tabled until a review can be completed.

  There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 2135.
