I agree that the tires should be replaced. I am replacing my tires 
on my truck that still have aaabout 5k left and would donate them 
but they are too large.

The new tires will more than likely never wear out but dry rot like 
the last ones. Nor will that trailer be towed for long periods at 
high speeds.

Therefore we can put on the least expensive tires as long as they 
are rated for the load(the right size). A 20 or 30k mile tire will 
last until it falls apart. Radials aren't necessary.
