Fellow Ham,
Once again, it's time to put together the annual Delaware Valley Hamfest
Calendar! The 2003 Hamfest Calendar (http://www.qsl.net/w2vtm/hamfest.html)
will be coming out early January 2003. Check the above site before then to
see the 2002 calendar.
This is the tenth year the Victor Amateur Radio Association (W2VTM) has
provided the hamfest calendar to the amateur community. The service is free
of charge, no graphics to slow things down, and there is no advertising on
our website. In return for this free advertising, please consider having
your club's webmaster provide a link to the calendar on your club's website.
In 2002, we had over 9000 hits!
You received this e-mail because we had your name as a point of contact for
a 2002 hamfest (either as hamfest chairman, club contact, vendor contact, or
VE contact).
If you are not the appropriate individual to provide information on your
club's 2003 hamfest, please forward this e-mail to the correct person to
ensure that your club's listing is accurate, and let me know that person's
name and e-mail address.
I know that for many of you, you are still recovering from this year's
hamfest, and won't be giving next year's hamfest too much thought for a
while. However, if you look at the over 45 hamfests in the New Jersey,
Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland area, early planning (at least
for the event date) is essential to avoid conflicts.
Please review your club's entry in this past year's calendar and provide
updates for any information you might have. If you don't have a date set
yet, your hamfest will be listed under the same weekend as this year's with
a note that the date is tentative!
The information requested includes the following:
Date of hamfest
City/State in which hamfest will be held
Sponsoring club(s) or organizations
Name of event (if any, e.g., Winterfest, FARfest, etc.)
Location of hamfest (name of fairgrounds, school, fire hall, etc.)
Address of hamfest location
Brief directions (what exit, what highway, landmarks, etc.)
Sponsoring Club's name and full mailing address
Name & callsign of hamfest chairman or point-of-contact (POC)
POC's mailing address
POC's phone number (and optionally fax number)
Talk-in Frequencies (include +/-/S repeater offset and PL tone if
required)
GPS coordinates of hamfest location (if available; main entrance)
E-mail address (for those who have questions or need more info)
Web site address of the sponsoring club, or hamfest flyer,
directions, map, etc.
Time event starts (for vendors and for guests)
Cost (general admission, kids, non-licensed spouses, tailgaters,
vendors, etc.)
VE Testing details (if available, how to register, when, where,
etc.)
Special attractions (guest speaker, demonstrations, workshops,
convention, etc.)
I know this is a lot to ask, but please provide as much detail as is
currently available, and forward the rest to me when available.
Thank you for your help, and best wishes for a happy holidays and a
successful 2003 hamfest!
73,
Pete Greene, N2LVI
