Sorry about the number of responses, but if you want to go expensive then there's the BTECH GMRS Pro which I firgot about adding earlier. This radio can do some simple data and is programmable with a smartphone app. It can be programmed in banks although I have found switching between banks can be interesting due to the menu system. The firmware is updated occassionally and the app will ask if you want to update. Updates take about 10 minutes.

I forgot to mention the Radioddity GM-30 PLUS can be programmed to allow individual units to exchange location on request of a second radio. This is only within line of sight. (The confusion I referred to earlier is there is an older GM-30 without the PLUS moniker.)

I promise no more, as of the 17 handhelds (5 models) I have purchased over the years the ones I've discussed are the ones i use more frequently.
