Long time CARA club member, Don Kirby, KR3A has passed away at the age of 95. Holding an Extra Class License, he was  an avid CW operator, often found at Field Day making dozens of contacts for CARA. He was always willing to lend a hand, helping many club members improve their amateur radio skills. His commitment  to CARA, so strong, that he has been the trustee of the club call sign K3CAL, for as long as anyone can remember.

Don worked for the  U.S Government Printing Office, and even spent a brief time as a Howard County Police Officer. He was a man of faith, devoting much of his time at local churches. His desire to remain active with both the club and his church, is why the club breakfast is not held on Sundays.

Remaining true to helping others, Don has donated his body to science. According to the family, no services will be provided.
