I didn’t build this one or add any weather proofing (I prefer dry conditions when I radio). Yes that’s just a bit of copper wire soldered to the SO239.
I used to use it with my Baofeng and an adapter as well as with my Yaesu FT-857. It was gifted to me when I got licensed and now it’s being gifted to Jimmy. :)
I’ve been planning to make one of these, I found some old copper pipe in my garage a while back. Currently I only have a 2meter dipole I made on my roof, but wanted to make a 2M/70cm j-pole. Did you do any weather proofing to the connector, and is that just some copper wire soldered to the So239 chassis mount in the center?
Sent from my iPhone. Any mistakes made is because Siri made me do it.

Jimmy,
Unless I already gave it away I may have one of these somewhere in the basement. If I find it you can have it. Let me know and I’ll go digging. Would then just have to figure out getting it to you (I work Thursday nights and cant make the meeting).
