Good afternoon everyone,

Our 13th annual Science and Engineering EXPO is only a couple days away! We are excited to hold our
event on Saturday, February 21 from 11am-3pm at Calvert High School.   Below are some details to help make our event run as smooth as possible!

  1. We greatly appreciate your participation in this event!  We recognize the time and energy that all of you dedicate to making this event so successful year after year and for that, we are extremely grateful!  Students in CCPS are growing up with this annual opportunity, and many of them are now actively engaged in presenting exhibits for our younger audience.  It's awesome to see our middle and high school students confidently presenting STEM related activities to an energetic crowd!

  2. Set-up for the EXPO will be between 8:30am-10:30am on Saturday, February 21. If you would like to drop off supplies or begin set-up on Friday evening, you may do so between 4-5pm.  It is expected that all exhibits are ready to roll no later than 10:30am the day of the EXPO.  We will have eager participants waiting at the door by 10:30am!

  3.  If your exhibit requires power, we will do the best we can to get you as close as we can to an outlet.  Please bring extension cords and power strips!

  4. Guests to the EXPO will be given a "punch card" when they arrive.  Each exhibit will be provided with hole punches.  As a guest participates in your exhibit, please be sure to punch their card.  They will receive a STEM prize when they leave for completing their card.   There is no age limit for these cards.  We encourage elementary, middle and high school students to participate!

  5. Concessions (water, soda, chips, candy ) will be on sale inside the EXPO.  This is CASH ONLY.  Please share this with your team!  Participants may bring their own food/drinks if preferred.

  6. Calvert Crabs Seafood food truck will be on the premises for our event.  (menu attached)

  7. Expect to see several hundred guests move through your exhibit. You will be busy!  We typically plan for 500 youth, but not everyone will make it to every station.

We look forward to working with you on Saturday.   If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out.  I will not be in my classroom tomorrow so if you need to reach me immediately, please contact me on my cell at 410-474-0930.

Take care,
