Hey Everyone,

Wow the forecast has shifted from what it looked to be the other day.

There are no shelter options at the wildlife management area. This typically doesn’t deter me as I would activate from my car. This would be considerably more difficult as a group.

Unfortunately, I believe we will need to postpone this activation until a later date.

We can coordinate an alternate activation over the next few weeks.

Not looking good again tomorrow. Andy is there a shelter or other protection from the weather where we plan to be? I'm hoping it holds off for a couple hours anyway.

Stay to right at the folk in the road where the folk to left takes you to the ACLT trail heads. Parker’s creek is to the right/ nearly straight in.

Just head to the very end of Double Oak Rd. That’s where we will be!

Andy, what road(s) do you have marked? I'm pretty sure I know where we'll be but, in case someone's not familiar...

Thanks!

Subject: [K3CAL] POTA Activation this Sunday

Good Evening,

Just a friendly reminder there will be a CARA Parks on the Air activation this Sunday, June 8th at 9AM. This month's activation location is Parkers Creek WMA. It is located at the very end of Double Oak Road in Prince Frederick. This is a Wildlife Management Area so don't expect any frills. I will try to bring a folding table, but you may want to bring a chair. The goal of these activations is to get local hams outdoors and on the air. I encourage you to bring a radio and an antenna you are testing. Perfect your set up, and get on the air! I have attached a map for reference. I will be on the K3CAL repeater for those who need guidance to the location. Hope to see a few of you out there...

Andy Byzet, WA4BRX
